Re: HELLO FROM FRANCE !

yes I agree with you movement is important ! But yes, I have to admit that the first thing I look at is the expression, if a collie has no expression, for me it is a pity ! I like to look at my collies every day, their head, their eyes........ I am always in love. I want to be in love with them when they are pups, when they are young, adults, older.

In France, 62 cm is not authorized if you breed and dogs with that height will not recognized as dogs with pedigree, we have to follow the english standard.

Thank you for loving Rocco. Embarassed

I agree that the expression is one of the most important thing but i won'T breed a collie who has nice head, but the movement and body isn'T ok. For me it's the first, because i couldn'T work and do agility, frizbee without it. And of course i adore to see in the deep black eyes, and i understand what you say.

I like that my collie is 62 cm tall. In Hungary We use English standard as well, but one centimeter is allowed. Maybe because there aren't really big ones here. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I think it's the same here.

And what about the shelties? Is there any centimiters more allowed in France? Becaouse in Hungary we have enormous shelties.... 5 or 6 cm taller than the standard. Shocked

I think it is the same with shelties, in France you have the american lines - most of them, and the english lines. With the first ones, you meet a lot of some shelties who are higher the authorized standard.

My first blue bitch, Thémis, was very high, at the limit, I was loving a lot her construction ! She was adoring to do herding with me (she has had also her herding test at 9 months old), and had a super movement. And she had expression ! Just that to say you can have a lovely dog with great expression, it does not mean you have lost the other important points. all the qualities are compatible and we all tend to have the maximum of them !

yes, I have made more than 30 shows with her, until she died 3 days after an anethesia for hip test Sad at only 2 years old.
She was wonderful in everything, she should have been international and belgian champion as she had all the CAC and CACIB required....
I will never forgot her, she was my dream in blue and I will always be thankfull to her breeder for letting me have Rocco, after this tragic loss. And he was reminding me Themis so much ! It was incredible ! They are half brother and sister and Boheme is also an half sister of Themis. They have all the same mother : the fantastic Rhapsody in Blue du Clos de Montamer
